Do you have a computer? Well you probably do because with out
one you wouldn't be reading this page . Any ways are you tired of people looking
at your computer well there are a few tricks u can use besides using user log
ins that u can easily click cancel and get around. If your computer is a windows
98
Windows 98: This trick is bound to scare
interlopers who try to log on to your Windows 98 computer--unless they've read
this article. Select Start, Shut Down, Restart in MS-DOS mode and click
OK. At the C:\WINDOWS prompt, type ren win.com xyz.com and
press Enter. From now on, when anyone turns on your computer, instead of
Windows they'll get an error message and a C> prompt. You'll know that you can
load Windows by typing xyz and pressing Enter,
but others trying to log on will think they broke something.
To reverse this arrangement and return to a regular boot,
simply go to the MS-DOS mode, type ren xyz.com win.com, press
Enter, and reboot.
And if you have windows Xp then you can easily set a user
password and turn guest mode off and your all set but if your one of those
people who worry about losing your password then just make a password reset disk
by going into control panel and go to user accounts and passwords look in the
top left hand corner for a clickable link and click on it put in a floppy and
wait it'll take about 10-30 seconds depending on you processor speed / ram use
this disk if you have nosy little brothers looking at you type your password in
and go in later and change it to lock you out well they'll be amazed that all
you have to do is pop in your floppy.
Instead of that if you don't have your own computer like
most of us and you want to keep you r siblings out of your files all you have to
do is create a zipped folder and zipped only and then right click and click add
a password but then don't forget your password write a text file with your
password in it and keep it in a secrete place or email yourself your password.
